These include benign (non cancerous) tumors other than giant cell tumor. Bone cysts ( simple bone cysts and aneurysmal bone cysts ) are often treated non surgically by minimally invasive methods.
If these don't work, surgery is sometimes required. Some rare benign tumors like chondroblastoma, osteoblastoma and chondromyxoid fibroma are treated with curettage or resection, as is done for giant cell tumor of bone.
A major proportion of these tumors, however, need no treatment and only need observation- e.g. fibrous cortical defect, non ossifying fibroma etc.
